| 06:30 pm - 08:30 pm | Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 The WSET Intermediate certificate is intended as a training programme in product knowledge for those employed in the drinks industry to improve their knowledge of wines and spirits and for the enthusiast with a serious interest in wine who would like to study in a structured manner. The course covers the wines and spirits of the world and is followed by a one hour multiple choice examination. Wine tasting is a part of every class.There is a strong European focus
Topics covered include:
- Level 2 Systematic approach to tasting and food and wine matching
- key wine producing regions around the world
- Key grape varieties
- Sparkling and sweet wine
- Fortified wines plus spirits and liqueurs

| 11:00 am | Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 1 This qualification aims to provide basic product knowledge and skills in the service and retail of wine to prepare a person for a job in hospitality or retail. It is also suitable for the beginner wine enthusiast and has a strong food and wine matching element. The qualification introduces candidates to a global perspective on:
- the main styles of wine
- the characteristics of the major grape varieties
- systematic approach to tasting
- service and retailing of wine
- matching of food and wine
To gain this level 1 certification candidates are required to:
- complete a one day course at Wine House
- successully complete a multiple choice paper of 30 questions and a portfolio of tasting notes.
