With the temperatures dropping and the winter months drawing ever closer, its time to focus our attention on more seasonally appropriate varietals. At this special in-store event, we will explore some of our favourite expressions of Pinot Noir from the key regions of production around Australia. Meet the woman behind the wine and be the first to taste the new 2010 releases including the 2010 Diana Madeline, one of Australia's most sought after wines. Also on tasting will be the 2010 Kevin John Chardonnay, Mangan Red, Cabernet Merlot, Mangan SSB and Margaret River red plus the 2011 Cullen SSB
The cost is $70 which includes organic cheese matches to all the wines and Vanya's tuition throughout the tasting.

Known as the world's foremost manufacturer of wine-specific glassware, this masterclass is designed to demonstrate the amazing difference the shape of a glass makes to our perception of wines. In this masterclass, we will explore the Vinum glassware series and feature the 'O' decanter and Cabernet decanter.
Over the course of the evening we will taste premium wine in the following glassware:

This five week course offers the chance to improve your wine knowledge and palate in a relaxed, fun environment. Class sizes are kept small to allow for plenty of interaction. Classes run from 6:30pm - 8:30pm and are held in the wine House function suite.
Topics covered include:
- Wine evaluation techniques and wine terminology
- Grape variety characteristics
- Winemaking
- Wine regions of Australia and New Zealand
- Wine and food matching
- Cellaring wine
The cost of the course is $245 which includes six wines per session / tuition and handouts.
Complete this course and you’ll never be confused by a wine menu again and you will walk into every bottle shop and cellar door with complete confidence!

| 10:30 am - 05:30 pm | Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 1 This qualification aims to provide basic product knowledge and skills in the service and retail of wine to prepare a person for a job in hospitality or retail. It is also suitable for the beginner wine enthusiast and has a strong food and wine matching element. The qualification introduces candidates to a global perspective on:
- the main styles of wine
- the characteristics of the major grape varieties
- systematic approach to tasting
- service and retailing of wine
- matching of food and wine
To gain this level 1 certification candidates are required to:
- complete a one day course at Wine House
- successully complete a multiple choice paper of 30 questions and a portfolio of tasting notes.

| 06:30 pm - 08:30 pm | Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 The WSET Intermediate certificate is intended as a training programme in product knowledge for those employed in the drinks industry to improve their knowledge of wines and spirits and for the enthusiast with a serious interest in wine who would like to study in a structured manner. The course covers the wines and spirits of the world and is followed by a one hour multiple choice examination. Wine tasting is a part of every class.There is a strong European focus
Topics covered include:
- Level 2 Systematic approach to tasting and food and wine matching
- key wine producing regions around the world
- Key grape varieties
- Sparkling and sweet wine
- Fortified wines plus spirits and liqueurs
This course runs for eight two hour sessions 6:30pm - 8:30pm Tuesday evenings - plus an examination.
